Sioux Pouch:
This Sioux Indian styled pouch is the type of pouch
used to carry tobacco or other medicines, herbs or tools, and usually hung from
their belt. It is a very handy size, about 5" x 6" with a 5"
fringe. It easily holds any full pack of cigarettes, with plenty of room to
carry even a small coin purse, tissues, etc. It works really well wearing it on
your wrist while you dance the night away, never worrying about where you left
your purse (speaking from experience here).
The one pictured here is decorated with a beaded
rosette, but you can decorate it any way you wish. It should be made of a soft
leather, either full grain or suede, which can be sewed easily by hand. The
Glass Crow Beads hanging on the fringe really add a nice touch and can be of
any color which suits your wardrobe.
Your FREE pattern and instructions includes the sizing
and method of cutting your leather and fringe, how to make your tie strap, as
well as how and when to attach your beaded rosette or whatever other decoration
you may what to add (optional). You should note that the strap MUST be very
strong, which usually means that using the same leather as the body of the
pouch is either a lot of work or not really feasible. This is why we recommend
under our decorative options below using the "oil tanned" leather
thongs. These are extremely strong and attractive. |
