The photos below were donated by my Cherokee
Grandmother, Jackie Morrow. Actually, she adopted me as her daughter in the
traditional Indian Way, so she was my Mom to me. We looked so much alike, it
was like looking in a mirror when I looked at her. She spent her last years
teaching me all she could on the Indian ways, and for that, I will always be
grateful. But she was so much more than a mentor to me. In my heart, she was,
and always will be, my Mom.
I am adding these photos to honor her memory. She
was very talented, as you can see, and was always very inspirational to me in
many more ways than I can say. The reason I have these photos is because I
helped her sell some of her items for awhile. Towards the end, however, her
eyesight wasn't as good, so beadwork became too much of a chore. I am sure the
addition of her work to this site would make her very proud. I'm sure she would
love it if her legacy of inspiring people would have some way of carrying on
beyond her life.
Love to you always, Ma!!

I was just reading your
latest newsletter and saw the Inspirational Pages. It is wonderful that you are
showing artists work! I have recently opened my own website...
willowtreeusa.com in which to show my work. I am a registered member of Bois
Forte Reservation in Nett Lake Minnesota. I do dream catchers made of willow
only. I am trying to do them as natural as I can, or whatever the customer
wants for colors etc. My email for the website is
robnrick@hotmail.com. |
