Coup Feather Kit: This kit teaches the techniques of working with feathers to prepare them for larger projects such as war bonnets, trailers and coup sticks. It results in a coup feather (award feather) which by itself makes an ideal hair ornament, hat plume, lance decoration or decoration for many other projects. Kids even love to hang it from the handle bars of their bicycles. It includes a full size immitation eagle wing feather (black tipped turkey wing feather), some horse hair for the tip, a white base and a red tip plume feathers (where they got their name), red felt and black sinew for covering and decorating the quill, and leather lacing for the tie below the quill. These are the traditional colors of coup feathers from 100's of years ago.
